Scrambling to Discover Zion’s Hidden Waterfalls

Autumn came late to Southern Utah but it was great. This is a second set of images from Pine Creek in Zion.

There are numerous waterfalls and cascades along Pine Creek. Some spots require rappelling or scrambling. The above image is walking upstream from a large parking area right before you head up to to the Mt. Carmel tunnel.

It is quite a scramble to get to this waterfall. You hit an apparent dead end and need to find a way up. Looking upstream I find it easier to scramble up the left bank.

I used a 30-second shutter speed with a neutral density filter to get that swirl.

Compare the difference to the image below at 0.3 seconds.

    1. I spent no time on editing the second image. Only purpose was to show the difference between 1/3 second and 30 seconds.
Also I think the lead image had a polarizer and the second one didn’t. Notice the glare is off the water and you can see the rocks below.
