Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore: Sleeping Bear Point Sunset

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore near Empire, Michigan is a great four-season park and one of my favorite Midwest locations.

One of my favorite spots in the park is the trail to Sleeping Bear Point. It’s an excellent spot at sunrise and sunset in the summer months.

Feature Image Details

I used a Canon 16-35MM F4 L Lens.

If I had to pick one lens and one lens only, this lens would be at the top of the list. I see things from a wide angle perspective.

The focal length was 22mm for 1/30 of a second at F16, ISO 640. I used a faster ISO to help freeze the breeze we had. Here are a couple more images.

The light was very clear on the day I took those images.

Often there are footprints and sometimes people trample over the grasses. I was fortunate that the grasses were intact and the wind blew away any footprints.
