Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore near Empire, Michigan is a great four-season park and one of my favorite Midwest locations.

I am sad to report the image I show here is no longer possible. People were climbing on that ghost tree and it toppled over. I took it the above image number of years back with a 24-mm lens.

Empire bluffs is still a great sunset location, but the ghost forest tree is toppled.

We are moving to Utah so I am saying goodbye to some of my favorite areas in Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
