On days when clouds are forming near St. George, Utah, I like to get out and do something. My wife Liz and I went to a trail along the Virgin river in a remote section of the Arizona Strip.
The water was too high and too fast so we ended up heading back to St. George to Gunlock State Park. The water there was too low.
Fire Lake was our third option. I had never been there before. Liz went there once and it was nearly dry.
This was the jackpot location with huge clouds lit up in the East over the mountains right at sunset.
This is a panorama stitch of 5 vertical images cropped to a 5-4 ratio.
