We have many different types of cactus and other flowering plants. Here are some images. Enjoy
The blooms on most of these cacti only last a day. They open in the afternoon and last through the next morning, fading rapidly starting about noon.
Beavertail Prickly Pear
The pink flowers and grey rocks make a nice combination.
Tubac Prickly Pear and Honeybee
The Tubac Prickly Pair is distinguished by purple pads.
Argentine Giant Saguaro
This side view shows how big these blooms are, something not easily seen from the front.
Argentinian saguaros also come in yellow and pink. Here’s a yellow one. The colored ones are called rainbow saguaros.
Ocotillo Bloom
These colorful ocotillo blooms can last a week of longer.
Jumping Cholla
The Cholla (pronounced choy-a) cactus family has wickedly sharp blooms and the spines easily detach.
Buckhorn Cholla
Colorful Petunias
We grown petunias and other annuals in big pots. They do very good in Spring and Fall.
The Summer heat in St. George is too much for them.
Spineless Prickly Pear
Cane Cholla
Cane Cholla Cactus and “Roberta” Lilies
Cactus and Lilies? Why not?
I did not plant them together. Rather, wind knocked over a huge cane cholla. I am not sticking my hand in those spines to move them.
